How to achieve success—Always

With God, success is possible in all situations. Regardless of your circumstances, God can bless and prosper you, just as He did with Joseph.

How to achieve success in any situation?

Genesis 39:3 says, "And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand."

Despite being taken as a slave and serving as a servant, Joseph was ultimately promoted to oversee Potiphar's entire household. Through it all, God ensured that everything Joseph put his hands to prospered (Genesis 39:4-6).

Managing a household of such stature likely involved overseeing staff, organizing events, handling maintenance and repairs, managing finances, keeping inventory, coordinating travel, and providing personal assistance.

Yet, unlike many captured foreign slaves who were often mistreated and abused, Joseph was entrusted with great responsibility and favor, a testament to God's presence and blessing in one’s life—regardless of their circumstances or position.

No matter where you are or what you do, God's favor can elevate and prosper you (Deuteronomy 28:1; James 4:10; Philippians 4:13).

God's hand was so evident in Joseph's life that even Potiphar took notice. It was obvious to Potiphar that his life was better because of Joseph's God.

Can your life inspire those who worship other gods to turn to the true God? Can individuals of different faiths observe your life and choose your God over theirs? This is the kind of life we should strive for—one where our faith and obedience to God is so strong that others cannot deny His presence and favor upon us.

Our lives should cause people to admit that there is a God, causing them to recognize His presence, blessings, and favor upon those who love, trust, and obey Him, and who completely submit their will to Him.

Joseph, serving as the trusted assistant to one of Egypt's most powerful leader, rose to prominence himself when he was made ruler of Egypt (Genesis 41:37-44).

It doesn't matter where you are or what your circumstances are; what truly counts is whose guiding your life.

His journey from imprisonment to almost complete authority

Joseph rose from being a foreigner Hebrew slave to one of the most influential figures in the nation. Despite being both a slave and a member of an ethnic, cultural, and racial group that the Egyptians openly despised due to their occupation (Genesis 46:34), God elevated Joseph to a position of power, a high-ranking office in Egypt, ruling over those who looked down on him and his people (Genesis 41:43-44, 55, 57).

Also, Joseph was married to a woman whose father was regarded as the most intelligent and cultured individual in Egypt, with unmatched erudition. (Smith, John. “Who were the priest of On?” GotQuestons, 4 Jan. 2020, https://www.gotquestions.org/priests-of-On.html.).

The ancient historian Herodotus noted that “the men of Heliopolis are said to be the most learned in records of the Egyptians” (History 2:3, trans. by G. Macaulay).

Further, God put Joseph in a position that made it undeniable that Joseph was the best person for the role. This demonstrates what God can accomplish (Genesis 41:38-46). This is the power of God at work. This is how God is glorified!

No matter your background, family circumstances, living conditions, education, social status, skin color, gender, or where you were born and raised, with God, you can attain any position and succeed in life like Queen Esther, Daniel, and King David, and thrive in pain and suffering like Joseph (Genesis 41:52).

Ultimately, it all comes down to humility, obedience, and faith

We need humility, obedience, and faith to carefully follow God's commands, as Deuteronomy 28:1 instructs. To be exalted as promised in James 4:10. And to let go of our own strength, abilities, or ideas and rely on God's, as Philippians 4:13 reminds us.

Just as Jesus humbled Himself in obedience—even to death on a cross—until God the Father exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, we should follow His example.

By adopting these principles, we can achieve success in any situation we encounter.

A call for salvation

When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, His spirit will become one with yours. This is one of the greatest blessings of salvation. You don't have to go through someone else to get to God, as you and Him are now one.

All you must do is receive salvation, simply choosing to repent of your sins and welcome Jesus into your life by confessing Him as Lord. In Romans 10:9 Paul said, "If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Here's a Prayer that you can pray to get saved:

Jesus, I confess that you are Lord, and I believe in my heart that you died and were risen for my sins. I ask for forgiveness of my sins, and I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior—in Jesus' name, Amen.

After this step, pray for guidance to find a ministry where you can grow spiritually, gain knowledge about the kingdom, and begin living the abundant life promised by Jesus.
