The Power of Truth Over Facts
We often rely on what we can see, touch, and prove to guide our decisions and shape our beliefs. However, for Christians, there is a different perspective that transcends mere facts - the power of God's word.
What God says has lasting power and can change any circumstance.
The Authority of God's Word
Reading the Bible is crucial because anything God utters nullifies, disregards, declines, and refutes all other statements. This is achievable due to God's complete and supreme authority. He is the ultimate source of power.
As Christians, we believe that the Bible is not just a collection of stories or historical accounts but the living, breathing word of God.
In the book of Isaiah, we are reminded, "The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever" (Isaiah 40:8). This verse encapsulates the eternal truth and authority that God's word holds over all things, including facts.
When faced with conflicting information or situations that defy logic, it is essential to remember that what God says overrides any facts we encounter. This does not mean ignoring reality or denying evidence but rather understanding that God's truth is higher, deeper, and more powerful than anything we are going through and can comprehend.
"The reason why his Word is final is not because He's the greatest but because He's the only" — Joshua Selman
Here's the fact
Despite being past childbearing age, Sarah was able to conceive because God had promised it would happen, and He fulfilled His promise. “At exactly the time God said it would happen, Sarah became pregnant and gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age.” (Genesis 21:2).
Despite the biological improbability of Sarah getting pregnant, God enabled her to conceive. His Word, representing truth, overruled the facts. God's truth (His Word) disregarded the reality of Sarah's old age and infertility, leading to the birth of a child (Genesis 17:19, 21:2).
By having faith in God's Word, you can overcome any circumstances such as sickness, poverty, disease, depression, affliction, or struggle. His authority has the power to reverse and change those facts.
According to 1 John 2:21 NIV, it is stated that, "...no lie comes from the truth." Who is truth? God is truth as mentioned in (John 14:6, 16:13, John 17:17). Therefore, everything God communicates to you is truthful, regardless of the circumstances.
An example is an account of the blind man whom Jesus healed. Despite the man's testimony about his blindness and his parents confirming his identity, the Jewish leaders doubted his words.
They asked for his parents for proof, and his parents said, “We know he is our son,” the parents answered, “and we know he was born blind. But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself.” (John 9:1-20). His parents affirmed that he was indeed their son and was born blind. However, they could not explain how he regained his sight.
The fact was the man had been born blind from birth, but this reality was overturned. He told the crowd, "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." God's word vetoed the fact that the man was born blinded and his reality changed.
Your current reality is a fact, but God's word has the ability to change that reality. This is the transformative power of God's Word!
Walking by Faith, Not by Sight
The famous verse in 2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us to "walk by faith, not by sight." This statement challenges us to trust in God's promises even when presented with a different narrative.
As Christians, we are called to live by faith, believing in the unseen and holding onto the unwavering truth of God's word.
The enemy tries to lure you into unnecessary battles, hoping you will fall for his lies and turn away from God's truth. However, the moment God is involved there's no longer any battle, only situational change and victory.
There is no one and there will never be anyone equal or in the same class as God (Genesis 22:16). He is the greatest and the all-power one (Isaiah 55:11; Jeremiah 32:17). All power belongs to him and comes from him, and the same power he has he's given it to us to use (Psalm 62:11; Ephesians 6:10; Matthew 19:26; 1 Chronicles 29:11; 2 Timothy 1:7; Ephesians 3:20, 2 Peter 1:3; Philippians 4:13).
"For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." (1 Corinthians 1:18 ESV).
The Power of Prayer and Belief
One of the most potent demonstrations of faith overriding facts is through the power of prayer. Countless stories and testimonies attest to the miraculous interventions that occur when believers pray in faith. The power of prayer transcends human understanding and defies facts.
As Christians, we are called to believe in the impossible and to trust in the supernatural power of God. When we align our prayers with God's will and speak His promises over our lives, we invite His divine intervention into our circumstances, overriding any facts that suggest otherwise.
Embracing God's Truth
By embracing His truth and living according to His promises, we can experience a profound sense of peace, joy, and assurance that surpasses all human understanding as we navigate life. God's word is the ultimate authority when faced with doubt, uncertainty, or conflicting information.
If you are in a situation where the facts are telling you something that’s negative, scary, or depressing; open your Bible and speak what God says over the situation until you see results; because what he says is what is true and opposes everything that is different.
Let us hold fast to the word of God, knowing that His truth reigns supreme and overrides any evidence, facts, or circumstances we may face.

A call for salvation
When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, His spirit will come to live inside you. This is one of the greatest blessings of salvation. You don't have to go through someone else to get to God, and He will live in your heart where you and Him become one and have a relationship.
All you have to do is make the choice of salvation by repenting of your sins and accepting Jesus into your life by confessing that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that He came from Heaven to die for your sins (Romans 10:9).
Here's a prayer you can repeat:
"Jesus, I confess that you are Lord, and I believe you died and was risen for my sins. I repent and ask for forgiveness of my sins, and I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into my heart and remove my sins. Thank you for forgiving me and making me into a new person in Jesus' name, Amen."
Once you have done this, please pray and ask God to guide you to a ministry where you can grow and start living the abundant life Jesus promised and died for.
