Grace is when God changes the way things turn out.
Grace is sufficient and enough for everything we need! It's the favorable circumstances God puts us in. And it shows what God can do in impossible situations.
What is Grace?
Most people define grace or understand grace as being privileged to experience the amazing favor of God as He goes out of His way to offer you kindness and good results even when you do not deserve it. However, grace is not limited to the above definition. There's more.
Grace is not easy to truly define because of its vastness. The definition above is an attempt to explain something that cannot be naturally defined.
When we read Ephesians 1:3, it says how God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ. So, to understand grace fully will require you to know each and every spiritual blessing we have in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, this blog aims to show you how grace is not limited but includes all that is in Jesus. The only way to know what is in Christ Jesus is to have a personal relationship with Him and to allow Him to reveal His graces to you, because grace is through having knowledge of Christ (2 Peter 1:2).
God's grace is so abundant, we will never stop knowing and receiving its fulness (John 1:16-17).
"Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord."
— 2 Peter 1:2
If you allow Christ Jesus to dwell within you and you follow his guidance, you will begin to experience a life filled with grace, which will continue to unfold throughout your entire existence (Galatians 2:20).
Grace is commonly understood as favor, faith, salvation, mercy, and various other things. However, it encompasses all of these and more. It comprises of God’s promises, power, strength, ability, healing, benefits, kindness, and more.
By grace you are given power (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). By grace you have help for moments when you are in need (Hebrews 4:15-16). By grace we are able to be kind and serve others (1 Peter 4:10). And when you are humble you will walk in grace (James 4:6).
With grace you can do things that are difficult and you can fulfill your life's purpose (1 Corinthians 15:10).
By Grace you are saved and given eternal life (Ephesians 2:8; Acts 15:10-11; Romans 5:20-21). Sin will no longer has dominion over your life with grace. It's what allows us to live a righteous life (Romans 6:14, Titus 2:11-12, Galatians 5:16).
Sin is not only wrongful actions but also its implications. Understanding the true nature of sin will help you recognize what no longer holds power over you or your life, thanks to grace.
For instance, the price of sin is death, but grace allows us to be forgiven, cleansed, and made right (Romans 6:23, 1 John 1:9).
When we sin, we fall short of God’s glory, but grace helps us out of the mess or overcome the consequences we have gotten into (Romans 3:23).
His grace includes His promises.
God promises, with long life will He satisfy you with (Psalm 91:16). In other words, you will be made to last a long time and endure for an extended period because He assures that your days will increase and years will be added to your life (Proverbs 9:11).
Another promise God gave us is to give us abundant life (John 10:10). He desires for us to have an abundance of everything that belongs to Him, but we must seek and desire His blessings (Matthew 6:33). What God offers goes beyond material possessions; His blessings are more valuable than any worldly possessions can provide (2 Peter 1:2).
Throughout the Bible, God promises us many things. Explore these promises, follow them, and watch your life change for the better.
It's time to go inside!
Jesus came to offer us a life of abundant, and if you are not living an abundant life then you are missing out (John 10:10).
It's like owning a mansion that you’ve never gone into. You remain unaware of the splendid decorations, artwork, and exquisite furnishings. Or the personal chef, pool, Jacuzzi, luxury vehicles, all at your disposal. All this is available to you, yet you're oblivious because you've never stepped inside your mansion.
This is the result of knowing God but failing to seek Him, explore the Scriptures deeply, and understand His heart. You will never discover what blessings God has in store for you.
If you’re missing out, it's time to go inside so you can enjoy all that’s yours.
His grace allows you to be in good health.
God wishes above everything that you prosper and be healthy (3 John 1:2). One of the key priorities for God is our well-being and physical health.
Jesus has already healed our illnesses as stated in Isaiah 53:5, where it says, "...by His stripes we are healed".
Jesus became our sacrificial lamb so we can be free from sin and all that comes with sin like sickness (Matthew 8:17, Isaiah 53:4-5, Psalm 30:2, 1 Peter 2:24). The plan that God has for us is for welfare not evil and to give us a future and hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Ultimately, you will be like an olive tree flourishing, thriving, and prospering (Psalm 52:8).
Olive trees are a symbol of abundance and glory because of its beauty. An olive tree can live for thousands of years. The oldest olive tree is estimated to be over 2000 years old, and it still produces olives. A testament to their durability. Olive trees are resilient and their roots can regenerate when they are destroyed.
There are many benefits that olives give and why they are considered one of the most valuable trees. David said that for those who serve God and follow His decree, instructions, and commands, their lives will be like an olive tree—thriving and prospering (Psalm 52:8).
As you delve into the Scriptures, you will quickly notice how much God wants us to have. He wants us to be healthy, free from limitations, living in happiness, peace, joy, prosperity, thriving, and so much more. God wants to exceed our expectations and promises to keep us bursting with overflowing joy. All of this is accessible to us now. All it takes is our "yes " and willingness to follow His plan. A simple "yes" is all it takes to receive everything He offers.
If you follow what God is saying then your life will be thriving and your life will be prosperous. Do what the Word of God says then you will know what success truly is and start to live in it
Our lifespan can never reveal the extent of all that grace includes (Philippians 4:13; John 1:16). But here is the great news, we do not need to comprehend the entirety of grace, but rather to live in it.
However, it is only through Jesus. Without Jesus you will never be able to walk or live in the fullness of grace. This underscores the importance of having faith in Him (John 5:30).
Hebrew definition
In Hebrew, the word grace is CHEN from a root word CHANAN, which means to bend or stoop [lower oneself] in kindness to another [in this case us] as a superior [God] to an inferior [us].
In simple terms, God lowered Himself for us from His high place to show us kindness. This is the extension of His love.
God's nature of love is why we have grace. His kindness leads to Him doing good, not just simply good but excellence—the quality of being outstanding or extremely good. And His grace is sincere, free from pretense, and coming from a genuine feeling.
His kindness leads to favor where He expresses His fondness for us by doing kind acts.
It is where we experience preferential treatment and get what is unearned and undeserved because it is His nature to act in kindness and to have mercy beyond what is expected or usual.
Greek definition
In Greek, grace is CHARIS and has the idea of graciousness in manner or action. It comes from a root word CHAIRO to be cheerful or happy. Just like He is, God encourages us to be a cheerful giver, and like a great leader, He leads by example (2 Corinthians 9:7).
God is ready, excited, and prepared to show you grace. He has so much to offer, and He is excited for you to be a recipient of what He has (John 10:10, Jeremiah 29:11, Matthew 6:33, Romans 15:13, Isaiah 58:11, Romans 5:8, Philippians 4:19, 1 Corinthians 2:9, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 6:23).
He is willing, glad, ready, and takes pleasure in us and adorns those who are humble with salvation (Psalm 149:4).
Salvation is more than being saved from death to life. It is being saved from the inconsistencies and struggles of life. Saved from living without direction. Saved from not having a plan and not knowing what to do. Saved from guessing in life to knowing. Saved from living life the wrong way to living life the right way. And saved from a low way of thinking into having your mind renewed. An excerpt from It's OK To Be Single
It is saved from a life of sickness to become whole, both physically and mentally. It is saved from living in worry and stress to enjoying a peaceful and joyous life. And it is saved from struggle to finding peace.
Wealth is a good example. When you receive riches and wealth without excessive effort, your life becomes easier because it is part of God's plan for you (Proverbs 10:22). Since it is a divine purpose from God, there is no need to struggle and exhaust yourself.
All this and more are part of God's grace. As the Scripture states, no one has truly seen, heard, or imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him. What is discussed in this blog is just the beginning, as it is merely the 'tip of the iceberg' (1 Corinthians 2:9). There is much more that God has waiting to be revealed to you.
God is a God who is personal (Revelation 3:20, John 15:15). When two individuals get married and live together, they begin to view it as their shared dwelling. It becomes their home (united as one) rather than just your house or my house. This is why many married couples opt to purchase a house jointly, making it truly theirs (as one).
By inviting Jesus into your life and communing with Him, you will become united with Him, and through this unity, His personal plan for your life will be revealed. This plan includes a path to success.
When we become one with Christ then we become fruitful and productive through His grace.
God's grace is His love, a love that is willing to humble itself so that you can experience a wonderful life. Jesus humbled Himself, lowered His position, and obeyed the Father's will in order to reveal His riches to you, allowing you to bask in His boundless love.
If you desire this kind of life, you can attain it. Simply choose to acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Lord and believe that He descended from Heaven to atone for your sins. By making this decision, you will access God's divine grace.
Here's a Prayer that you can pray to get saved:
Jesus, I confess that you are Lord, and I believe you died and was risen for my sins. I have sinned against you, and I repent and ask for forgiveness of my sins, and I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into my heart and wash away my sins with your blood and make me clean and I receive You by faith as my Savior.Thank you for forgiving me and making me into a new person—in Jesus's name, Amen.
When you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, you can now begin a life full of joy and happiness, and experience His amazing grace.
Once you have done this, please pray and ask God to guide you to a ministry where you can grow, mature, and start living the abundant life Jesus promised and died for.
